Anniversaries are nothing new when it comes to music writing. It helps quite a bit during dry times when there isn’t much else happening in the industry. That’s been the case over the past several months due to the pandemic, and it will be for many more to come unfortunately. The silver lining is there’s no shortage of occasions and releases to look back on as the days of 2021 take shape.
Over at Ultimate Classic Rock this week, I did quite a lengthy list on 81 albums from 1981 that will celebrate their 40th anniversary this year. Don’t be intimidated by the enormity – it’s not that bad. There’s only a brief descriptor for each record, which will have you either surprised or feeling old at some of them hitting the four decade mark. Read the whole piece here.
