While on the road to promote their 2008 LP Dig Out Your Soul, arguably the best Oasis album since (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? the fractious relationship between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher finally reached DEFCON 1, with the latter first hurling a plum (!) at his sibling before swinging a guitar like an axe at his head. This was all just minutes before the band were slated to take the stage in a headlining spot at a festival in Paris.
Suffice to say, Oasis didn’t take the stage that night. Noel walked out of the building and never looked back. Over at Ultimate Classic Rock, I took a look at how the split all went down, what led up to it and where the possibilities of a reunion stand.
