Want to know why end of year lists and holiday gift guides are so popular? It’s because there is typically nothing of note going on around this time. That said, I managed to eek out some pieces for The Daily Times (gift guides mostly) and Ultimate Classic Rock.

I was unfortunate enough to witness the Guns N’ Roses no-show and ensuing riot at the First Union Center back in 2002 in Philadelphia. Over at Ultimate Classic Rock, I went long on what went down.
At The Daily Times, my gift guides ranged from the best music box sets to the best books (and bags) to the best gadgets and tech when it’s a struggle to find something for those hard-to-buy-for people in your life.
Finally, also for the Times, I did the obligatory best music of the year, showcasing everyone from Marilyn Manson to The Afghan Whigs to Japandroids.
