When I last checked in with The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess, he and the band were about to kick off a co-headlining run with shoegaze legends RIDE, performing Between 10th and 11th in full. An outlier in the UK outfit’s catalog, the 1992 record caught on over on these shores, buoyed by the hit single “Weirdo”. This time around, there’s a new release to promote in We Are Love, an LP with specific nods to a near four-decade history of creating music together while also marking bit of a sonic departure.
The Charlatans headline The Paradise in Boston tonight (September 22), and Vanyaland once again linked up with Burgess to see what was up. Click here to check out the article/interview, and below is one of the singles from We Are Love, “Deeper and Deeper.”
